The head of the Iraqi Commission for the Control of Radioactive Sources, Kamal Hussein Latif, announced today, Tuesday, that the Russian company "Rosatom" will implement a project to build nuclear reactors in the country to provide electric power, stressing that talks with the company have made excellent progress in this regard, Alforat News reported.

ROSATOM is the official representative of the Russian New Atomic Energy Agency. The presidential palace is located in the capital, Moscow.

In 2017 Iraq asked UN for assistance in building a nuclear power reactor for peaceful purposes.
