Iraq announces entry into third wave of coronavirus

The Iraqi Ministry of Health announced, on Saturday, that the country has entered a third epidemic wave of the coronavirus, more severe and dangerous than the previous two waves, confirming the continuation of the plan to increase the quantities of vaccines and immunization outlets.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Saif Al-Badr, said "the new epidemic wave that entered the country is more severe and dangerous than the first and second waves that entered the country previously," stressing that the front of the new wave requires focusing on prevention methods, the most important of which is wearing masks and distancing, as well as vaccination.

According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Badr explained that the Ministry of Health began implementing an expanded plan that includes increasing the quantities of vaccines arriving and the number of vaccination outlets in Baghdad and the governorates.

The spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Health noted the need to adhere to and seriously implement the instructions of the Supreme Committee for National Health and Safety, calling on all media and social networking sites to activate the dissemination of health education and awareness messages and to adopt solid scientific sources in transmitting information.

Al-Badr pointed out that the institutions of the Iraqi Ministry of Health continue to provide various health services to Corona patients, as well as other health services at various levels.
