The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, on Tuesday, the selection of Iraq as the president of the Social Forum of the Human Rights Council for the current year.

According to the ministry, the Iraqi ambassador, Abdul Karim Hashem Mustafa, the permanent representative of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations office in Geneva, will occupy the position of the president of the forum, which is scheduled to be held from 4 to 10 October 2021.
