On Sunday, the State Security Media Cell in Iraq announced that it had thwarted two attempts to blow up electric power transmission towers in Nineveh Governorate in the north of the country.

The State Security Media Cell stated in a press confrence that the security forces dismantled a group of explosive devices targeting electric power towers, after they were planted by ISIS terrorist gangs, according to Russia Today.

It also added that their security forces, with their various formations from the defense, the interior, and the Popular Mobilization Forces monitor the electric power transmission lines all the time and they thwarted all attempts to target towers and stations, to ensure the stability of the electrical current reaching all regions of the country.
