On Sunday, Iraq announced the arrest of 7 dangerous leaders of the terrorist organization "ISIS" in Nineveh Governorate.

"Through the distinguished efforts in following up the elements of terrorist gangs of ISIS by the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency in the Ministry of Interior, the agency’s men were able, through a qualitative intelligence operation, to arrest 7 terrorists against whom arrest warrants were issued in accordance with Article 4 of terrorism due to the presence of information indicated against them," the Security Media Cell said in a statement.

The statement indicated that legal measures were taken against terrorists in accordance with the law.

The security services also confirmed the continuation of efforts to eliminate terrorism, pursue its elements, and reveal their terrorist plans, according to the statement.

Iraq had announced in December 2017 the liberation of its entire territory from the grip of the "ISIS" organization, after nearly 3 and a half years of confrontations with the terrorist organization that occupied about a third of the country, announcing the establishment of what he called the "Islamic Caliphate".
