Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday met Éric Chevalier, French ambassador to Iraq.

During the meeting, also attended by the French Consul General in Erbil, they discussed developments in post-election Iraq and the latest ISIS threat to the disputed territories.

Prime Minister Barzani addressed the importance of cooperation between the Peshmerga and Iraqi security forces with help from the Coalition to eliminate the ISIS threat.

The French ambassador reiterated his country’s support to Peshmerga forces in areas facing the ISIS threat.

Another topic was the situation of migrants on the Belarus-Poland border. The ambassador thanked the KRG for taking measures to prevent illegal migration and for facilitating the safe return of migrants.
