President Nechirvan Barzani concluded his participation at the 59th session of the Munich Security Conference today by meeting with Mr. Niels Annen, the Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The meeting discussed Germany’s economic support and projects in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, underlining the importance of economic and political stability in Iraq for Germany to continue its projects in the country.

The meeting also focused on Iraq’s security and political situation, and the agreement between the Kurdistan Regional Government and Iraq’s Federal Government to address the status of Shingal. Mr. Annen emphasized the importance of stability in Shingal and its security situation for Germany to continue implementing its development plans there.

The fight against terrorism and confronting ISIS threats especially in the disputed territories, and also the situation in Syria were highlighted.
