President Masoud Barzani Commemorates Barzan's Struggles and Sacrifices at National Memorial Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony of the Barzani National Memorial was held today in a solemn atmosphere, attended by dignitaries and representatives from Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. In his speech, Masoud Barzani, the Kurdish leader, commemorated the struggles and sacrifices of the people of Barzan for freedom and dignity.

Barzani began his speech by welcoming the guests and expressing his gratitude for their presence at the historic event. He then discussed the history of Barzan, from the building of the Barzan Takya in the ninth century AH by their great grandfather Sheikh Tajaddin to the leadership of Sheikh Abdul Salam II, who began a fundamental reform to define the Barzan path.

Barzani also listed the principles of the Barzan path, which include God worship and theology, humanity, religion as morality, the brotherhood of humanity, the inseparability of religion and country, the obligation to struggle against oppressors, environmental protection, and the protection of women's rights.

Barzani went on to discuss the legacy of Sheikh Abdul Salam and his brother Sheikh Ahmad al-Noorani, who continued the fight for social and political reforms. He described the conflicts they faced with the authorities and their ultimate sacrifices for their people.

The Kurdish leader concluded his speech by emphasizing the significance of the Barzan National Memorial in commemorating the struggles and sacrifices of the people of Barzan for freedom and dignity. His words were met with a solemn silence from the attendees, who paid their respects to the memory of those who had fought and died for their beliefs.
