Kurdistan Region's Government Boosts Healthcare Sector with New Appointments and Medical Supplies

In a significant move to enhance the healthcare sector in the Kurdistan Region, the Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, has announced the appointment of 100 new employees to the General Directorate of Health in Halabja Governorate. Additionally, 30 more individuals have been appointed on a contract basis at the Biara hospital, which falls under the supervision of the Health Directorate of the province.

The decision reflects the ninth government's unwavering commitment to developing and supporting the region's healthcare system. By bolstering the workforce and providing essential resources, the government aims to alleviate the burden on citizens and ensure better healthcare services.

This recent development comes amid an increased focus on investing in human resources and medical equipment in the healthcare sector. The government recognizes the importance of well-equipped facilities and qualified professionals to meet the healthcare needs of the population effectively.

In a previous announcement, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani had approved the allocation of a substantial budget to provide medicines and medical supplies for patients suffering from thalassemia in various provinces of the region. An impressive 2,871,698,000 dinars have been earmarked for this initiative, which will primarily benefit the provinces of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Duhok.

The distribution of funds is as follows: Erbil and Sulaymaniyah provinces will each receive 1,066,375,000 dinars, while the province of Duhok will be allocated 738,948,000 dinars. This significant financial allocation underscores the government's dedication to ensuring that patients with thalassemia receive the necessary medical support and care.
