SLC's accusations about oil smuggling from Kurdistan is way of dodging responsibility, says Kurdish coalition
The State of Law Coalition's (SLC) accusations about oil smuggling from the Kurdistan Region is a way to dodge responsibility, said an MP from the Kurdish Blocs Coalition (KBC) today, adding that if the government had provided practical things to the Iraqi people, the battle to withdraw confidence from the government would not have happened.
Saeid Khoshnaw Rassoul said: "The legislative power legislates laws and the government is the executive power for the legislation that is Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has too much power. Why is the Council of Representatives responsible and the government is the authority responsible for implementation of projects?

"The formation of a committee to investigate the smuggling of oil from Kurdistan or southern Iraq is the only solution... These accusations are running away from responsibility."

An SLC MP said yesterday that Maliki is not the only one responsible for the conduct of reforms where he is not responsible the "smuggling" of oil and "disrupting" the legislation of laws.

Iraqiya, the Sadrist Movement and the KBC are seeking to withdraw confidence from Maliki, accusing him of violating the constitution. They demand President Jalal Talabani to apply the withdrawal of confidence from Maliki.

The efforts to withdraw confidence from Maliki were refused by Talabani, who hinted about resigning from his post if the leaders calling for withdrawing confidence insist on changing his convictions about this issue.
