MP calls for opposition withdrawal from Kurdistan parliament
An opposition MP called on the opposition factions to withdraw from Kurdistan Parliament in case the authority continues with its "dictatorship".

Speaking to NRT website, Bilal Suleiman of the Kurdistan Islamic Group (KIG) said the authority is used to the regular statement issued by the opposition for Kurdistan public.

Recently opposition forces issued a statement condemning the newly founded Kurdistan Security Council, led by Kurdistan president's son, Masrur Barzani.

The statement said the opposition forces will do their best to abolish the council which they deem as a tool for "power-monopoly" by the major parties in Kurdistan. The bill for the Kurdistan Security Council was ratified amid the opposition boycott.

Suleman urged the opposition "to be decisive and set a deadline for the authority [to carry out reform]."

He continued if the authority overlooked the warning, "I suggest that the entire [opposition] MPs submit a general resignation in order to show the world how dictatorship the authority in Kurdistan is …."

Kurdistan opposition front includes KIG, Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU), Gorran (Change) Movement and Kurdistan Future Party (KFP), which all together hold 36 seats in the 111-member Kurdistan Parliament.
