PUK and PDK politburos concerned about Maliki's move
Politburo member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Kakamin Najar announced that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is looking to create trouble with the Kurdistan Region and his behavior indicates that he wants the return of Saddam's era.
Politburo member and spokesperson of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Azad Jundiani however believes it is not the right time for Iraqi parties and the Ministry of Defense to make a move which may cause further deterioration.

Jundiani said: "It is not right in this time for any parties in Iraq to make a move which causes more problems. Especially now the Syrian uncertainties demand us to work together in dealing with our borders."

Najar said: "Maliki is looking for more influence in Iraq. He wants to return to the former dictator’s regime time. Every day creates a problem with the Kurdistan Region."

Najar added: "Maliki doesn’t need to send troops to Khabour. What is his problem there? We see many Kurds getting killed in Sadia, Jalawla and Kurdish areas daily. Isn't this a trouble making process?

"If we say a word, they say Maliki's problem with the Kurdistan Democratic Party is a personal problem.

"Iraq must think of stabilizing security in Baghdad and other cities, in which dozens of civilians get killed daily in blasts and clashes. The Iraqi government should think of the provision of electricity for Iraqis. The warm temperatures are now at 50 degrees while Iraqis receive only four hours of electricity a day."
