Iraq and Kurdistan Region's parliaments don’t have right to question Barzani, says Kurdistan Coalition
The Kurdistan Blocs Coalition announced that Iraq and the Kurdistan Region's parliaments do not have right to question the region's President Massoud Barzani.
Bloc spokesman Muayad Taib said: "Iraq and the region's parliaments don’t have the right to question Barzani but it is possible to ask questions for the purpose of explanation only."

Yesterday a number of members of the House started collecting signatures for questioning Barzani in the Iraqi Parliament about a number of files, the most prominent of which are Exxon Mobil contracts with the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Taib added: "Interrogating the Kurdistan Region's president is not mentioned in the Iraqi constitution nor the enforced laws in the region.

"The Iraqi Parliament is not even able to question a minister or director general in the region."

The collection of signatures to interrogate Barzani falls within the media campaign aimed against him, stressed Taib.
