Iraq: 349 Escaped prisoners captured
Baghdad Operations Command announced that 349 prisoners who escaped from Abu Ghraib Prison have been captured.

In a press conference held on Sunday, July 28, Commander of Baghdad Operations, General Abdul Ameer al-Shimari said that security forces captured 349 prisoners who have escaped from Abu Ghraib Prison are captured and 105 prisoners and attacker are killed.

Gen. Shimari pointed out that the attackers used 15 suicide attackers driving car bombs in their attack on the two prisons, adding that at the same time with the attack, prisoners carried out disturbance.

He went on saying that early investigation show that there was negligence by local police and prison guardsmen and that search underway for the remaining escapees.

Last Sunday, Abu Ghraib and Taji prisons were subjected to armed attacks in which car bombs, mortars and machine guns used resulted in the killing of guardsmen and prisoners.
