President Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting on Tuesday with Mr. Liu Zhenyong, the incoming Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in the Kurdistan Region.

The President congratulated the new Consul General on assuming his position and extended his best wishes for his success. Additionally, the President expressed the Kurdistan Region’s support for Mr. Liu Zhenyong’s work and mission.

Their discussion centered on China’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Both parties emphasized their readiness to enhance these relations and explore opportunities for mutual cooperation. In this regard, Consul General Liu Zhenyong highlighted his nation’s future plans to establish a visa service department and to construct a consulate building in Erbil.
